To provide better service in alerting the American people to unsafe, hazardous or defective products,
six federal agencies with vastly different jurisdictions have joined together to create www.recalls.gov --
a "one stop shop" for the latest information on all federal U.S. Government recalls.

"Before purchasing or giving any gift, particularly one intended for a child, double-check to make sure it does not pose a hazard," Stratton said. "Visit CPSC's Web site to determine if it has been recalled. Another option is to go to the easy-to-remember Web address www.Recalls.gov.
