California Corporation Code Book This book has all the actual codes for corporations, including
Nonprofits Public Benefit Corporations, 501(c)(3); and
Nonprofit Mutual Benefit Corporation, 501(c)(6).
This is the law that all corporations need to follow -- Bylaws cannot contradict these codes.
The California Nonprofit Corporation Handbook
by Attorney Anthony Mancuso
This book contains sample Bylaws, Articles, and Minutes necessary for forming a nonprofit corporation.  It has line by line instructions to obtain your state and Federal tax exempt status.
Robert's Rules of Order, Newly Revised First written by General Henry M. Robert in 1874, it is revised regularly.  This has basic rules to keep order at meetings and move them along.  Most associations have this as their Parliamentary Rule.  When the Bylaws do not cover a particular situation, Robert's Rules of Order has the procedure to follow.  Your Bylaws can be contrary to what this book states, if your association wishes to follow a different procedure.

A great way to advertise your association.  For each $7.50 you can receive 10 magazines every 2 months for one year.  Place a 2" X 4" sticker on the back and get permission from various locations to leave 1 or 2 magazines in their waiting room.  The sticker would say:

<list your association information>
For $30 each year, one association distributes 40 magazines to various locations (dentists, pediatricians,  local college, other major businesses with employees likely to have children, etc.) every two months.  These are placed in the waiting rooms and/or employee break-rooms.  Their sticker informs the reader of their referral service for child care.
