State Compensation
Insurance Fund www.scif.com Workers' compensation insurance may be purchased directly from State Fund by contacting any of our State Fund offices. Your Broker-Agent will handle all of the information gathering if you choose to place your insurance through a broker-agent. The first step is
to obtain
an application form by contacting any of our State Fund Offices. We
need
to know how many employees you have, their estimated annual payroll,
and
what kind of work they do. Businesses that require licensing are
required
to provide proof that such licenses are valid and current. If your
business
has had prior workers' compensation insurance, you will be asked to
provide
a policy history for up to five preceding The application form and other documentation can be mailed or taken to the State Fund Office nearest you. Once we have reviewed the information and assessed your operations, we will provide you with a Terms of Insurance Quote. Should you accept our Quote, coverage can be bound the day after we receive your signed acceptance and deposit check. Determining the correct job classifications and rates for premium calculation is not as simple as it sounds. Jobs that appear similar may be considered different for classification purposes. State Fund reviews your operations carefully to ensure that you are charged the correct rates. For this reason, we do not give estimates over the telephone. If you are interested in speaking with a State Fund representative about purchasing a State Fund policy, please call the State Fund office nearest you.
